CALL FOR PAPERS: Abstracts due July 11th, 2025
The El Paso Museum of Archaeology will be hosting the 24th Biannual Jornada Mogollon Conference on October 17 & 18, 2025 at the El Paso Museum of Archaeology once again. Proposals for individual papers or sessions are now being accepted on any history, culture, or archaeology topic in the Jornada Mogollon region. Presentations will be 30 minutes in duration with five minutes between each presentation. Papers accepted are eligible for publication in the conference proceedings volume. There will be no poster sessions. Please submit your abstract using this form. The museum will provide a Digital Projection for PC Microsoft PowerPoint but NO slide projector. (Please note we do not have a MAC.)Thank you!

CALL FOR PAPERS & POSTERS NOW OPEN! – ASHA CONFERENCE 2025

The call for papers and posters for the 2025 ASHA Conference is now open!

This year’s conference will be held in Devonport, Tasmania /Lutruwita from 24-26 September 2025.

We encourage posters and papers that explore the conference theme: Islands of Knowledge: Sites, Stories, and Significance

Please submit a title and short abstract (150 words), noting the intended session, to conference@asha.org.au by COB Friday 29 August 2025.

When submitting an abstract you will need to:

  • Provide a title, author(s) and affiliation(s) and the lead presenter’s name;
  • Nominate the session theme into which you would like your presentation scheduled;
  • Indicate whether you intend a 20 minute paper or a 10 minute paper;
  • Confirm that at least one presenter of the paper/poster is a current member of ASHA and will register to attend the conference by 5 September 2025.

Currently approved Conference Sessions are:

  • Island Law: Tasmanian heritage policy and practice
  • Tools of Resistance: Aboriginal Innovation in a Colonial Landscape
  • A lost love of labour – Investigating and Caring for Industrial Archaeology
  • Bridging Islands of Knowledge: our future in historical archaeology
  • Free drinks and other strategies for managing community interaction, initiatives, and engagement with archaeology
  • Entertainment in the Colonies: Leisure and Lifestyle in the Archaeological Record.
  • Artefact and material culture studies: creating knowledge, telling stories and reflecting on meaning
  • General Session: Updates on Current Projects and Research

Please note that there is an intended mix of Standard Sessions (20 minute papers) and Short Papers Sessions (10 minute papers).

The Conference organisers reserve the right to reassign your paper to a more appropriate session theme if required. This would be done in consultation with Session Convenors.

Posters

Those wishing to do poster presentations should submit a poster title and short abstract to conference@asha.org.au by COB Friday 5 September 2025.

Please clearly indicate that the abstract is for a Poster.
